3.2 engine into a 1972 - 14 pin engine connector relocation
I'm hoping that someone has come up with a fix to relocate the 14 pin male connector on the electrical panel in the engine bay from its original rear position to the front of the panel to align with the 3.2 female 14 pin harness which comes from the side of the 3.2....simply not long enough to reach the original rear location on the electrical panel. Thank you.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1546107683.jpg

That’s pretty much the same through the SC
I always did like you pulling the female side loose from the panel Remove the retainer clamp on the fuel rail should give you more length Plug them up and tie wrap the connection Bruce |
Flat6pac - thank you for your reply. I removed the clamp at the fuel rail and also the plastic yellow band that secured the harness in the middle of the engine...helped some, but still need at least 3 - 4" of additional slack to connect these two pieces.

this might hep, for a 77 3.2 conversion though..

I made up a short male to female jumper from a used male 14 pin plug that had about 12 inches of the wires and a new female plug from Sunset and a bunch of wires with the female pin ends.

Another thought- since some of the chassis and engine wire colors and functions are different- you can make the changes within the jumper and leave the chassis and engine harnesses intact.

I made one for my 73 with some sheet metal and a Dremel.
