switch lighting

what are the correct lamps to use for the defroster and fog light pull witches?..i cant seen to locate them?

We discussed this recently. Do a Search. It depends on what style of switches you have. Tell us what year your car was built. A picture of the switches will help.

i ve seen many posts about led lighting kits, none include the dash switch lights...which I thought were long thin tubes? need pictures or links?

Probably the bulbs are BA7 , but to be sure post a picture of the switches. Different switches for different model year Porsches.
In the Porsche Parts Catalog it reads P/N 900 63 1102 90 Bulb 12V 2W

I'm impressed with your use of the correct term lamps, instead of bulbs, though sadly I'm unable to help.

its a 77 targa,,,,i will pull apart the switch and check the LAMPS this weekend

You need BA7 bulbs/lamps

For a '77, likely this is true. If so, the lamps are accessed from the BACK of the switch. Here is the recent thread. You may be able to access the lamps by removing the speedometer and reaching through that hole.

In the other thread there is a picture of the defrost switch. It is BROWN. That thingie at the end with the wire attached....is the bulb holder. Pull out the clock and reach behind the switch. Pull the bulb holder straight out. The bulb is the same as your instrument bulbs.

Any idea what the part number is to replace that defroster bulb shown..the one that looks like a golf tee?
