Anyone ever make fenders or other carbon fiber parts at home??

Was toying with the idea of trying to make some carbon front fenders,maybe bumpers. have a lot of boat building experience with vaccum bagging fiberglass but never carbon fiber.
I heard it can be tricky in tight turns, anyone ever try it?? I'm thinking it might be more trouble than it's worth especially without an autoclave. Would like to hear your guys thoughts. I know Getty makes them but it's a little out of my budget.
