Cracked Cab Window

Finally saw the sun yesterday. Took a nice ride through the country and decided to drop the top once everything was warmed up. Apparently the rear window wasn't warm enough. Now have a 4" chevron shaped crack, appropriately enough frowning at me. What is the appropriate course of action at this time? Is this a big deal? I imagine I need some professional help and probably someone to fix the window too. Thanks Dave

Most upholstery shops can replace the palstic window. Mine was done for 150 bucks. Original top, third rear window..

Hey Mike,

Every upholstery place that I went to told me that the plastic on my cab would cost upwards of $600!! I might as well have replaced the whole top at that price.

Where are you located? Would you mind referring me to the place that you had yours done? I live near LA but my 911 and I are in the SF Bay Mondays-Thursdays... it might be worth the drive to get my plastic window fixed wherever you are located.

Mahalo for the help!

Steve

Thanks Mike!

Can they do it in a day or do I have to leave my 911 overnight?

Cheers!

I have located one of the $600 shops locally. Can anyone help me find one of the more reasonable priced shops in or around SE PA?

Send a message via ICQ to Kurt B Send a message via Yahoo to Kurt B
For around 700 you should get a whole top and install it.
With installation, it'll cost around 1100 to 1200. It'll take them 14 hours approxiamtely.

Just install it yourself. Allocate 30 hours for the install. Order one with German canvas or you'll regret it.

If your rear window cracked, the rest of the top probably needs replacement.
