Single post lift??

I’m thinking of something like this for both increasing my number of parking spaces plus for maintenance

I want to push it against the wall of my shop leaving space for another car on car skates to be pushed sideways in underneath it

Any thoughts on suitability?

Happy New Year Wayne For that price I would go four post if you have room. Also I understand the suspension should be loaded during storage (weight on wheels).

It's a neat lift style and makes moving cars around easy.

Shaun,
so with car on the lift, you can move the entire lift? I need to look into that.

what brand/model?

by the way, two boxes of parts on the way to you.

The problem is the extra posts

I want the bay in front of the door to remain open
So I want to put something like this against the wall and roll another car in under it

First car to live there will be a fresh painted I assembled 914 chassis with a 911 under it

P.S.
Still looking forward to getting together when I’m back in town this spring

that is my problem. 24x24 bay but just a single large door.

been using a quicklift for a few years but as I get older really want/need a good lift. the 930 shell will be going on a rotisserie soon.

Hey Bob!

Yes, you can roll the whole lift around with a car on it surprisingly easy. It's essentially a huge palette jack.

What is your plan to keep drips off of the 911 below it? I have a 2 and 4 post lift in my garages. The 4 is ideal for stacking with integrated drip trays. I will not park anything under my two post with a leaker on top!

I've been looking at these too

https://aclifts.com/lifts/m-1-single-post-car-lift/

Haven't pulled the trigger on one yet (and may still go with a double post lift)

Nice result with the one post Mobileman. Saves space an d works on 110V. The issue is not enough clearance to get under the car and I don't see how ramps could work. It would be nice if there was a lift capable of both storage and for doing maintenance.

JPM, the Mobileman goes pretty high, 6 feet. The 110v is nice. When lifting cars, you roll it under the car vs. roll the car over it. It's shockingly easy to roll, even with a car on it. A complete car, not just a body shell.

On the mobileman do you need to use ramps to get 911 on? Or is it low enough to go under the car? Tim

Goes under the car Tim, pads and arms are 4" though you can raise the pads or use hockey pucks.

I guess I should also compare cost/benefit vs putting up another building or buying a shipping container
But I have the vertical space and I like the idea of a lift

I wonder if aluminum ramps could be attached to the arms as that would make it perfect.

If one drips bad enough to worry about, an oil absorbing pad on the roof is no big deal

Also, medical supply places have those blue absorbent pads used under patients in operations

Ideal for cushioning as an added layer of protection

Bottom line is I’m not willing to give up the flexibility that more posts would steal from my shop floor space where my motto is everything on wheels

I can reconfigure the space at will depending on how it’s going to be used,
From band night to motorcycle hang out to car storage to race shop

If drips are your primary concern, seems like some trays could be added under the engine to catch them. But it's very common to store one car on top with another below.
