Has any one installed windshield corners ?

HI Pelicans...

I'm about to tackle another portion of my 1972 project, the windshield corners have been poorly repaired in the past, I need to replace both or patch with the new pieces I made by Dansk.

This seems to not be such a straight forward process... obviously, nothing really is. You can't just cut it and but weld it in as it is just the front half and looking at the factory piece there are not seems to pull apart to separate the two...

other areas that look hard is seperating the spot welds on the thin seam where the windshield seal sits and the other side where it goes around the cowl, front side...

I was hoping someone might have some suggestions on this one?

Thanks for your help,

Rodney

Too big of a project for everyone on the board? Come on I know someone has done these before.

Paint and body forum might get you some responses. If you’re lucky 962porsche will chime in.

I visit there everyday, unfortunately no one else does, a week will go buy with no posts. On average probably one new one a week.

Why can’t you cut it the original and weld on the new panel , or at least enough of it to make a sound repair ?

I have a hood just sitting on mine and 2 bolts holding the front fender on , but have no space in the garage to put them if I take them off , so cannot look at mine .

But seems easy enough to grind or drill the spotwelds , leaving two butts seen and one butt under the fender .

If you don’t get a reply by weekend I’ll strip mine down and take a look .
