What do you think???
It started intermittently, but my '86 Carerra stumbled in first, and then began missing in all low range RPM's. Now it's missing when idling, bogs down through at least 3500 RPM and feels like it's running on less than six cylinders.
As soon as I got home tonight, I did a quick search here, and went outside--opened the engine lid and saw a bit of a light show from the three ignition wires crossing over the fan shroud. I definitely need new wires. Collective wisdom, please--anything else I should check, or is the light show enough to make my fine little car run so badly??

When was the last tune up? You know, cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, valve adjustment, etc...
But it sounds like your plug wires need replacing too. |

All but the wires were replaced about 9K miles ago--

Matt, do you think time is a factor here? Strange as it may sound, I'm still running the original factory wires...no problems yet.

Paul, I wasn't thinking time was a factor with the wires, but more so with the plugs. When I attended the Jerry Woods/Bruce Anderson Tune-up class, Jerry said plugs should be replcaed every 24 months, regardless of mileage.
