Tire Size Selection

I have a 1971 911E that I primarily use at DE's at our local track, Watkins Glen.

Time for some better rubber. Looped it on entry to the bus stop on the back straight. A little too much trail breaking.

I have 205 60R 15's all around on 6 inch Fuche wheels. These are street Perrelli. Any thoughts on the maximum size tires and wheels I can run on this year car without wheel well mods?

I am looking for some used wheels and leaning toward R tyres.

PRay Porsche Ray Yes I do some praying on the high speed road coarse.

Probably could get a 215/50 on the rear without mods but it would be very close, and varies from car to car. You would need a 7" wheel. On the front 205/55 on a 6" or 7" rim. Again would be close. I'm running 205/55s on 7x16s front and back had to roll the front left lip. Other people have had no clearance problems.

Do a search for "tire AND 225" and you should turn up some good info. There was a thread about 2 or 3 weeks ago that addressed this issue.

Good luck
