Australia and Wurth products help please

I'm doing my tank. I can't get Wurth Grey here. Do I paint over this product to get the correct colour or do I use another product. Looking for the original texture and colour for my 68 911.
I take it this product will do inside my gaurds , boot and underneath and will match ???
Thanks Lyndon

Are you sure you can't get it? My advice is to find a shop that has a Wurth Sales Rep assigned and get them to ask the rep if it can be had.

I used that strategy to get a couple of cans of the Wurth german wheel silver, which was not stocked anywhere.

My advice, for what it's wurth, is no.

It's too soft to paint over. Especially the tank where it will get knocked around a little.

You could paint it on the bottom of the tank that will get covered in road film, and who cares, it's only the bottom. Then match the paint colour for the top. I'm sure it doesn't need all that covering if it's just in the bonnet (trunk). As long as it looks right.

I've been down this same path and came to the conclusion that I had two choices:
1) Have white shultz of a brand and type that gives the same texture as the original Wurth product tinted OR

2) Use white shultz to do the repairs and paint with a topcoat that is close as I can get to the original colour.

Since I was only doing a tank I went with option 2 and after applying the white Shultz used White Knight Rust Guard Quick Dry, that I applied with a long nap roller to get the right colour. This water based paint is available from Bunnings and comes in many colours. With my '85 I got a perfect match off the shelf (it was an olive colour, sorry I can't recall the actual name) and was very happy with the end results and its durability.

So happy I subsequently did my '88 but it was more grey colour and I had to mix from two colours to get a reasonable match. (I didn't expect there would be such a variation in colour between two cars of the same model!)

Upol Gravitex is the product you need, which is what Wurth rebrand as their own.

The Upol product is available in grey, black & white.

Practice with the schutz gun a wee bit.

It's really hard to eff up but just test some pressures. I know it ain't HVLP 20 psi but I don't think it's 140 psi either.

My container of Gravitex Plus says "to" 5 BAR. 10-70 psi.

Go with 70 on your practice run.

Hello, now I might be able to get my tank back somewhere near it's original colour. ( The repair business I used to treat my tank gave it back in a soft black muck).regards,Michael.

60 psi seems to be a good number if your using a non adjustable Schutz gun.

Sorry Lyndon I edited my post to improve clarity.

Also, where the original shultz was only slightly damaged, I just used seam sealer applied with a brush with shortened bristles to stipple the finish to match the surround area. Once painted it was hard to see these repaired areas and was quick and easy to do.
