Seinfeld's million dollar 356 problem

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld was sued Friday by a company claiming it purchased the “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” star’s luxury 1958 Porsche for $1.54 million only to discover it was fake.

Collector Fica Frio Limited’s lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court against the legendary comic, who is known for his love of vintage cars. His show “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” follows Seinfeld as he interviews other comedians while driving in fancy, vintage vehicles. Seinfeld is a collector of vintage cars, Newsday reported.

This was already posted yesterday and debated the $hit out of. Honestly its kind of annoying to hear peple call a beautifully restored car a 'fake'. Sounds like Jerry was not aware it was not original. He clearly does not have a need to rip someone off for what is chump change to him.

But honestly, these 'fakes' are better cars in every respect compared to the 'real' version of the cars. Other than for collectibility purposes, does anyone really prefer the feel of driving an original Porsche of the 50-70s era over one with upgraded components? I have more money in my 'fake' early 930 than what it costs to buy a real 930 these days. I've had a real 930 in the past, and I wouldn't want a real 930 after feeling what a restomod 70s Porsche 911 feels like. I'm sure my opinion is a minority here, but I love the way old Porsche's look, but I can't stand what they feel like in stock form. And I would never pay the high six figure prices on these early cars unless someone spent the time and effort and money to make them perform like a sports car should. I'd much rather just buy a new Porsche for that kind of money. Just my humble opinion.

First time I’ve herd the word “luxury” associated with a 356.

Seinfeld has asked for the “proof” the buyer supposedly has that the car is a fake and once validated was willing to make the buyer whole, and the buyer has refused to share anything, opting to instead file a lawsuit. I doubt anyone has more available Porsche experts than Seinfeld considering the number of classic Porsche’s he’s owned.

Before spending $1.5 million on a car you would think he would have had an expert look it over.

Maybe the buyer isn't looking to be whole. Maybe he smells deep pockets and would prefer to win the lottery in court.

2018 will be known in the future as the year the word “alleged” was stricken from the dictionary.

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.
