Spark plug gap on '74 Carrera
running (at least for now) NGK BP8ES. I could swear the owner's manual says .055" which seems very, very wide, considering the plug, out of the box, is about .030. What say ye'? thanx steve (stock motor, CIS, street car rarely driven in anger)

I feel like sucha an idiot (again!). I saw 0.55 and thought it was .055 (which would be a wide, but not off the wall, gap). My error, and thanx for helping me. NGK says .028" on their website. thanx again. steve

Odd/interesting. I searched on 74 Porsche 911 spark plug and found four different recommended spark plug gaps on a site.
One of the plugs was 22 thousandths which ties to manbridge's manual numbers. Others were larger up to 32. ![]() https://www.go-parts.com/ps-mmp.php?make=Porsche&model=911&parttype=Spark%20Plug
