Best Steering Wheel for Carrera 3.2 ?

Somebody commented on my ugly steering wheel, see photo below

I'm keen to get a nice Momo or other brand aftermarket one
Which size, shape, brand is the best out there ?
Show us a picture of what you have in your car w the specs please

Umm, I've just realised who you are. The steering wheel is the least of your problems.

yes, steering wheel is of very low importance at this stage, so is the gear knob, the stereo and those silver gauge rings...

nice steering wheels are very expensive, in NZ even a standard one will cost hundreds

Clearly it's on the wrong side of the car.

....yeah, what Bill said. Get your rust problems resolved and remedied before you start on the ascetics - and, so what if a complete stranger doesn't care for that particular wheel.

Momo Prototipo in black, faux Porsche crest, and a column spacer to get your knuckles past the dash.

would be my pick, but spending $500+ on it when there are so many other areas requiring attention??

I did a lot of searching here on the forum and this was my favorite. Just did it myself. 370mm Abarth steering wheel, Zuffenhaus hub, Fuchs centercap adapted onto Momo horn button. Feels/looks great, and clears the gauges.

Is there any instructions on how to mount a center cap onto the center horn button? Is is simple glued on with some sort of adhesive? I definitely like the look as it emulates the early hockey puck style.

I used an new early Fuchs cap ordered from our host, and a standard Momo horn button. I had to remove the 3 prongs on the cap and grind the surface smooth. I also had to grind using a dremel the plastic housing area around the outside of Momo horn button so the button itself extended out as much as possible to be in contact with the centercap. Lastly, I ground down a bit of the inside lip on the cap to get a smooth clearance between the outside circumference of the Momo button housing and the inside circumference of the lip on the Fuchs cap when pressing the horn. I used JB Weld to hold the pieces together. Once you have the parts in your hands, it becomes pretty clear what needs to be done to make it happen.

For early cars I prefer the momo prototype or Mod 10.

For later cars of that era I really like the Momo montecarlo. It has a more modern oval rim profile more in keeping with the deign of those times, and it feels great.

Here is a thread with a bunch Show your Steering Wheel

At least it got us talking about eg Steering Wheels!
And of course I know that i have some tinworm issues to resolve first, but no harm in planning ahead!
In my M3 I had this Sparco dished steering wheel w suede covering; good for grip. It also looks quite similar to the Momo. Anybody else using Sparco? It's well priced.
