Original interior Carpet
Hello all,
After several body works on my 1973 2.4 T time is coming to renove interior... and I need Pelican parts experts opinions!!!! I would like to put original carpet on my car. A belgium supplier offers me 3 possibilities (I have already samples...): Charcoal (Salt & Peper) Perlon felt Charcoal (Salt & Peper) Feintuft velour Charcoal (Salt & Peper) Haargarn velour To my opinion Charcoal (Salt & Peper) Haargarn velour is really beautiful and more luxury than Perlon felt... But...... Is Charcoal (Salt & Peper) Haargarn velour an original option on 911 2.4T 1973???? Thank you for your answers |

I can't really help because I don't know for sure but if I had to guess "Charcoal (Salt & Peper) Feintuft velour" looks good.
Maybe get the "birth certificate" from Porsche? The original carpet in my 78SC was a black shaggy type. I have it in storage but it's in bad condition. It's so 70s I doubt I'll ever be able to find matching carpet.

My car is a December 73 2.7 Targa so it might not be relevant but although the carpets in my car have been replaced the carpet in the door pockets is original and looks like a black version of the Perlon sample . Having said that Perlon is pretty poor carpet and it's a shame if that's what the factory put in there very expensive cars!

I also vote for (Salt & Peper) Haargarn velour.
Even if the 1973 original carpet is more salty than your. Anyway it seems a good repro. If you need a "near field" photo of the original carpet from 73 just ask ... mine are still new because they were stored. Just an unrequested comment ... take ALL the time you need to find the right carpet pattern and do this work just one time (save your money, your efforts and your time)!!

Where are you located? I can make recommendations on carpet suppliers if you don't have one already. PM me for details.

Hi Alex,
I'm going to order the same carpet at the same provider. After all, are you happy with the Haargarn carpet? |

GAHH has fantastic kits. I’ve installed them many times with no issues.
Get a good quality steamer and a high quality contact cement
