My wife was happy to reunite with old friend and team mate Hurley Haywood. He was one of the drivers for Reiser Callas ALMS team and she was the team operations manager 20 years ago.

Then and now......

The little banner decal was supposed to stay covered over for this event -- it's an inside joke for a friend this coming Wednesday at Willow Springs. But I guess it works in some fashion for the Luft show.
I enjoyed looking at your car. I sat in the shade for about 5 minutes looking at it and noticing all the little details. The track rash when looking from the front made a great contrast to the back.

Love the black and white, especially on the 356s. It just seems so... right, ya know?

It all comes together here. Composition, subject and exposure.

One of my favorite cars at the event. An original paint 56 Speedster. Love the contrasting black hardtop offset by the signal red body.

Of course, the cars get all the well deserved credit.
Though honestly, this new choice from PLong of a location is imho the coolest so far.
doublethumbs up!
All those Pcars parked in the "street"!... and that gas station!.... so cool!

The show completely exceeded my expectations.

After waiting too long to get inside (nearly 90 min for those who took public transit or Uber'd), I was skeptical the show had become too big.

Then I arrived at the backlot. The setting, the cars... it was a magical day. A one-time only type of feeling. I told a friend it felt like walking thru a living art exhibit (with the best possible art). Huge kudos to the Luft team.

I think we all wanted that shot. Few people were prepared to wait until there were no other peeps in the frame. Lots of people poring over the barn find

Thanks All! That's one of my favorites from the entire day. And yes, it took a lot of patience to find the right window between the people to get the shot. I had the same challenge with the 917 trio but eventually got my shots.

I'm not great at integrating people into my photos, but every so often get one that I like:
