Need Help with early door lock cylinder

I'm trying to help a friend/customer with a 1967 912 soft window targa. I offered to re-key his locks and can't figure out how to remove these cylindrical type tumblers. I've done dozens of the later style ones with the flat tumblers but these tumblers don't just lift right out. Anyone done one of these?

Is that a nut on the other end?
Maybe the key slot is threaded in?

So it appears that the cam is holding them in?

They would probably slide out it you were to find the correct key.
The 12 flags on my 76 were all randomly stamped with numbers 1 through 4, and when removed in the proper order would give you the key/lock number. Good luck.

Wish I had the answer for you Glen but I cant even get my tumblers out of the Lock barrels. The set I'm working with were re-chromed without being disassembled first. I don't even know where the roll pin is located in order to drill them out. You don't happen to have a pic showing how the lock cylinder was removed from the barrel and the location of that pin?

My first assumption is that the pins have mushroomed over time as the key has worn against them. this has flared the diameter causing them not to freely fall out of the lock cylinder. I'm assuming the spring and the other half of the pins (all the same length) are located with the outer lock cylinder? the pins associated with the inner cylinder a the ones of varying length which define the key code. typically these inner cylinder pins should just fall out of the cylinder. Try using a magnifier (loop) to inspect the first pin through the key slot as it should be close enough that you can focus on it with a high magnification loop to get a good idea of the condition of the end of the pin. you should be able to turn the pin to see the full circumference of the inner end.
