Passenger side mirror blind spot solved!
 

After all these years, I've uncovered the source of my passenger mirror problems.
"trying to adjust to see a car in blind spot was a real challenge on the road"

The L/R on the stick causes up/down and the U/D on the stick causes, left-right motion.
Whew, only took me 35 years to figure this out! The driver side is fine.

Apparently as I suspected the mirror was taken off this door for a "respray" just before I unsuspectingly bought it. Hey the wife liked it and wanted to get it. How could I refuse her.

If I get the car painted I'll be sure to get the wires correct!

Something like that would cause me to think I had a problem....not the car.
