Exhaust smoke mid-ship
My car goes in today to finally pull the engine and try to get to the bottom of a rather significant oil leak, have spent the last 3 Sundays at the "U-wash-it" place blasting and simple greening the underside of the motor to give my mechanic a clean canvas to work with.
While inspecting it this last time with the motor running and off the jack, I noticed what appeared to be exhaust smoke coming from around the area of the clutch/tranny, but it was on the ground so can't know for sure, what could this be, dripping oil burning, some sort of leak, would seem like a strange place for exhaust, and with the car down my perspective was a bit off, any feedback? Just curious if this could lead to the "ahhh Adam, I've got some bad news...." phone call.... TIA Adam

Assuming it’s the SC & it has stock exhausts the crossover exhaust pipe goes right under the trans/motor junction so any leaks from the main seal, engine oil cooler, oil pressure sending unit or others will go right onto the pipe. Just add to the list for your mechanic to check out.
