87 911 sunroof issue

Hi there. this is my first post so be kind....i have a sunroof issue where when i try to retract the sunroof, the driver side will attempt to slide back but the passenger side will not move. I removed the sunroof and removed the gear attached to the sunroof motor and cables. The cables on each side would slide. When I reattached the motor and gear(without sunroof installed), the cables and guides would slide forward and back freely. When i reinstalled the sunroof and fully closed, it is binding up on the passenger side and will not retract. Do you think that the passenger cable is worn in that area where it makes contact with the gear enough that it is slipping under load? Appreciate any input you may have.
