The top speed will vary with the aero options. Front chin spoiler helps. M491 will take a hit as the wide body adds drag.
The inaccuracy of some of the speedos is amazing. Mine was always pretty close and after NHS went through it at 217,000 miles (odo gear failure) it is dead nuts on.

I've got mine to at least 145 with the stock exhaust on the morning I rolled it over 200,000 miles. For most of the last 100K miles I've had B&B headers on it and that noticeably increases the the power at top end. Even though I have the Carrera version of the 3.8 wing that adds drag it was pretty easy to get it past 150. I've gotten it past 150 twice and the best was 153 and 153 is past redline on the tach. (And I was passed handily by another Carrera with a 3.4!)

I have a video of one of those 150 MPH runs on YouTube. Other than the fact that things are passing pretty quickly it actually isn't that interesting. (Back when I had the stock decklid, hitting the brakes faster than 135 was 'interesting'. It definitely had a lot of lift in the rear.) With the 3.8 RS wing you can slap on the brakes and toss it on its nose.

Going fast was neat a few times, but I much preferred the Black Forest on a Sunday morning with no other cars.

Looks like a lot of roads here in PA....
My fear, especially with the tree line so close to the road, is deer jumping out in front of me... these cars are so low I can imagine one ending up in the passenger's seat.

My 73 RS tribute 2.7 with MFI and full RS spec mechanicals went 141 on the GPS and had more to go but I lifted.......was on the 101 near Ventura that was enough for me.....very stable....impressive.

This says little about top speeds but the slipperiest made through 1998 was the base 993 & 993RS, followed by the F series 911RS(1973) The 993RS/CS and 993RSR would be in second if in in low drag mode

I’ve been to 130+ according to the speedo. Like others have stated, this is likely really 120 or so. Although, my speedo has been rebuilt by North Hollywood. Who knows.

Btw- my ‘88 is amazing solid at this speed. It has certainly benefitted from a full mechanical rebuild with 100% factory parts. Prior owner was meticulous. No mods. Front and rear factory spoiler and factory exhaust at the time. Just ran out of road.

I saw 140+ on the speedo somewhere in Wyoming. Car felt solid with F&R spoilers. I've felt less secure at 120 in cars without them.

Yep. Cruised for several hours at 5th gear/redline in Germany. Rock solid. Had a few full brake applications when people pulled out and I worried about the tail swapping ends, but the braking was absolutely straight and never once felt like it was coming unglued. Not bad for a 30 year old car.

Or coming around a corner and finding a pack of bicyclist's. My days for any high speed runs is on the interstate only, with plenty of room and for a short blast only. Out West is different, I have cruised for 100+ for hours.

I would never try it on the open road. I guess I have too much grey hair for that.

At Charlotte Superspeedway I was over pretty close to 5,000 RPM in 5th and the engine is screaming louder it seems than in lower gears at the same RPM.

I don't have a front spoiler or rear wing. The car was stable, but I really did not want to try to go faster. That is a fun track, and the infield is a blast.

152 sounds pretty realistic... I had mine up to 143, and it seemed to have a little more to give.

Roe deer are pretty small, more like hitting a large rabbit compared to their corn feed midwestern cousins.
