Deciphering tire date codes???
The car has been sitting for 6-7 years and has a set of 195/55 Dunlop Direzzionales on it. I cannot find anything that indicates the month/year of manufacture on the tires. I believe that they need to be replaced before the car goes to the track, but I am curious to know the actual age.
Any advice on divining the age??? Thanks, chris |

the date stamp is not on both sides of the tire so you might have to pull them off

Got it
Thanks Jac and 930 Dude,
The car is on the lift and I will decipher the code tomorrow. Appreciate the advice, Chris |
Also depends upon the year tires were manufactured for older tires. Easy explanation on this site:

yes, please replace regardless of wear

Yes definately replace, these tires had 20,000 miles on them and were 7 years old. Vehicle stored in a garage. Damage was $7,000.
