Opinions on Fidanza flywheel for 2.7 6 bolt

Anyone logged many miles on a fidanza flywheel? I've used them on a few other cars in the past with success.

I'm going to pair this with a aluminum sachs pressure plate and new disc on my 3.0L (but I have a 6 bolt 2.7L crankshaft).

These Fidanza flywheels seem to be exempt from the p-tax so i'm attracted to the price.

Jamie, was that on a 6 bolt crank or a 9 bolt? Since the 6 bolt 70.4 stroke cranks had such a hard time with flywheels i'm hoping to hear success stories from those cranks.

This was a 9 bolt crank in a turbo application. Also a hot rod 3.0. Also a 2.8 6 bolt crank and and soon a 6 bolt hot rod 2.2.

Okay, now you're just bragging! I'll go ahead and grab one then. Thanks!

Fenn Lane has a 6 + pound flywheel for a good price

One of our resident engineers, Chris_Seven runs a business in the UK, Fenn Lane. He makes a variety of quality products.
I purchased a steel wheel from him at a very good price.

I haven't installed it yet but also have an all aluminum clutch going in as well.

Good Luck,
chris

Post #14 lists some steel wheels and prices. Don't know how these compare to Fidanza.

UPDATE----I found a thread from 2009 or 2008 where others had trouble and spoke to Fidanza who said some filing might be necessary for fitment. So i lets hope i took enough off the case thru bolt boss so that it doesn't make contact when everything is up to temp and spinning 7000 rpm.

Well, i ordered the Fidanza part # 199111 and had a chance to install it today.
Weight is 4 lbs 14 oz.

I did have an issue though with installing it. The case bolts that have bosses down at the bottom just behind the flywheel - The flywheel is hitting these bosses and rubbing there. I decided that I could use the flap wheel and take some off the case there at the bosses, they are plenty thick. It seems like they were mostly touching the stainless steel rivets on the flywheel that hold the friction pad to the aluminum. THis might not be an issue on an actual 2.7L but my 930 case might have less clearance.

Has anyone else run into this issue with these flywheels?

Fidanza

I have used many of these and they are fine.So you must have a Carrera 3.0 engine with the six bolt crank. You have to clearance a little off the case boss but this is normal for this flywheel. It is good if you put some valve grinding compound on the mounting surface and lap the flywheel on for a perfect fit.Happy Revs.Fred
