Removing Heater blower 80 911sc electrical connections on or off?

When I purchased my car the exahaust system was backdated. Which meant that the heater blower was removed. I have noticed that there is contact points on the heater handles inside the car. Do these wires need to be disconnected (two yellow to one to each lever)? Will they put a drain on the battery, if I leave the heater levers up.

How would I determine if something was putting a drain on the battery, I have an optima battery and when letting it sit for about a month and a half I had to jump start it. If I let not sit that long 2-3 weeks I am fine.

I did a serch, but this one post (literally) was as close as I could find.
Without going overboard and spending cash, I have attempted to shed a little weight from my '82 911 SC.

I've removed:
~rear deck spoiler
~AC compressor/bracket, front and rear condensor and front condensor blower, all AC hoses and receiver/dryer
~windsheild washer bottle only, small lines are still in place
~Backdated heat/removed engine compartment heater blower
*planning on removing AC evaporator housing in smugglers box next, possibly bumper overrides, front chin spoiler and rocker trim.
*All electrical connections to these components are sealed with electrical tape.

My question is similar;
Does voltage still flow to these electrical connections with these componets removed ?Id like to avoid shorts and /or grounding of course, but dont want to dive into pulling wire looms out of the car and apart.
I realize this is a rudimentry electrical question and a subject probably covered on the forum somewhere. I would be thankful for any advice or links, thanks
Josh

The yellow wires, when connected by the mechanical switch below the heat lever, complete the circuit to activate the heater blower relay, which directs power to the blower. No blower, no draw.

Guys, I have the same issue. I checked the cables and they are working as expected. I removed the motor and before I checked the resistor, I connected the motor directly to the battery. I am guessing it should worked and if I connected to the battery and it is not working, is there something I can do before replacing it?

I have some HVAC parts from a 78 SC that will be for sale including this blower. let me know if you determine you need a blower. you do not mention year so no idea if it would work. and I would need to test to be sure it is working. removing all this HVAC stuff from my project build.

no idea if my 78 would work. here is a pic of the assembly but it sounds like you only need the motor? I put a battery to it and it ran fine.

I just went through the same. Your brushes are probably toast (melted brush holder). Pelican has the replacement motor for around $100.
