Windshield wiper does not return to position
Hello
When I turn on the windshield wipers they do their job well. But when I turn the wipers off, they do not return to the “rest” position but they stop immediatly. Any ideas how to solve this? Thx for the help |
Hi.
I have found the switch to be the culprit in the past. There are contacts within the switch that provide power to the parking circuit when in the off position. If you remove the cowling and give the switch a spray with contact cleaner you may sort your issue. Wiggling the switch in the off position may get the wipers to park. I have had some success with this method but sadly short lived as the problem generally returns before too long. Patrick. |
this thread has a lot of great info -- http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/948981-wipers-dont-park.html
I googled "911 wiper park" to find it -- lot of great info available, as many of us have had (and documented solutions to) similar problems in the past |
read the thread from darrin, the intermittent switch can cause exactly the same symptoms if not OFF (ask me how i know!)

Mine was not the switch, though I checked that. Mine was fixed when I pulled the motors, opening it, cleaned it and are greased it...and cleaned the contacts. I found a few threads on here talking about it and how to fix it.

mine is the motor on my 930. I have not pulled it yet.
check the switch first though. also check to make sure the INT sw is off. I just reach under the dash and pull the wipers connector when the wipers get to their parked position. that stops them |
Knob.
Is your intermittent wiper knob located on the dash off?
