Value of recently rebuilt 915

Does anyone have a feel for the value of a recently professionally rebuilt, read as <4K miles, 915 gear box. I cannot find any for sale on the classified page to see what people are asking.

Any help?

it's hard to get a grand out of them, even though it cost more than that to rebuild them. probably $7-800.

John, For a recently rebuilt one w/ reciepts? I sold one needing rebuild at Dunkle's for almost that much to a shop owner who is not known for overpaying for things, if you get my drift. ;)

I would guess that it would sell quickly on this BBS's "for sale" board @ $1500/best offer, I assume no ltd. slip. I had people who wanted my 915 ltd. slip rebuilt for $2200, but I decided not to sell it.

I would have a receipt for the rebuild. It is very fresh.
