74 heatexchangers vs. SSI
Are the pre 74 exchangers the same as (not material but configuration) as the SSI exchangers? Are the 74's thichk or thin flanged? Will the 74's work on an 86 3.2? I came across an OK pre 74 pair for a great price but the heater boxes are a little tired on the pas. side. Thought of using just one side for heat and defrost. Any suggestions?

74 are thin flanged. . . will work w/ spacers on studs.
SSi's are a bit more "equal length", so also a small bit more difficult to install. using just one side for heat, will mean only one side of the car will get heat/defrost.

My guess is that if you order SSI's specifically for a Carrera 3,2 they have thick flanges. If anyone knows for sure if this is the case or not I'd like to hear from them.
