needed help finding a new antannae base
My 1974 911 appears to have the antannae hole in such a place that a retractable is not an option...unless I want it to have an extreme rake. The original base which may have been dealer installed was galled up while taking it out in prep. for paint. It is still behind the gas filler but a bit further back than most.
Any suggestions on where to get a new fixed height antannae base? |

How Big a Hurry are you in?
I can check on pieces and parts when I go to the shop where
my '74 is this next weekend... |
Thanks,
I wouldn't say I am in a tremendous hurry. The car just came out of the paint shop and is heading to the upholstery and trim shop tomorrow. I should get it back in about 2 weeks from those guys and would like to have an antenna to install by then. |
That'll work
Go ahead if you find something, in the meantime I'll check
around my car and my wrench's shop to see if we have anything. I'll be there this coming weekend, will let you know. OK? |
you can have my base for free. it's from a 68 and may or may not be what you need - i don't know but it's yours. just want to "pay it forward" from the help i have received from people i don't even know.

Bob, that is great! I was starting to get concerned that I was going to have to hunt this down for a while. I haven't seen too many 911s with a fixed height antenna. I will send you a p.m. in moment with my mailing address.
