Looking for Dyno close to Tampa

Does anyone have any experience with a shop that has a dyno close to Tampa? I would like to double check the settings on my 930 and have them tuned if needed. Knowing the HP is a must as well. Plenty of shops around but so far none with 930\911 experience.

Thanks

Dyno

Are you looking for an engine or chassis, is it CIS or EFI, stock or wild ? we have an engine dyno, I have a guy in Sarasota that has a chassis set up and does alot of turbo work of all kinds. Give me some more info and I will see if I can help

Thanks for the reply Mike. I actually called your shop hoping you had a chassis dyno but learned its strictly engines. You were highly recommended. My car is relatively stock, just bolt ons. K27, Garretson intercooler, tial wg / 1 bar spring, adjustable wur and a RarlyL8 muffler. The headers are stock as well as the fuel head and internals. The car runs great, I just want to get some HP #'s and verify that my co and AFR's are in check. Hopefully it will not need any adjustment, if it does I want some one who is a pro with 930's. I would not mind driving to Sarasota if his shop has what I am looking for.

Thanks again!

Dyno

Call Derrick @ A.R.T. 941 539 3004, as simple as it is to adjust the mix on the CIS 930 (other than getting to it) he has a wide band O2 sensor and a nice chassis dyno, I have tuned a couple cars on it. tell him I sent you, sometimes he is a little tough to get on the phone as he is a small shop and busy.

speaking of dynos, I read that some types of AFR sensors will produce inaccurate measurements after being used on cars running leaded gas. Leaded gas might be available at tracks or brought to dynos in racing team vehicles. Is this an issue? Are some types of AFR meters that would be used at a dyno designed so this is not an issue?

O2 sensors

It is an issue and you have to keep an eye on the results, when we go to the track we put a new or good sensor in for a few sessions (running leaded race fuel) and verify the AFR then pull it out and good for the weekend so long as the conditions don't change. On the dyno if the engines are close to target AFR's we get quite a few hours on the sensors with leaded fuel, you just have to calibrate and pay attention to results, that said It would not last long in the car with leaded fuel as a driver before getting dirty.

Found a great shop, its one of our local pca advertisers. Heritage Motorcar Research or HMR now in Saint Petersburg. Killer shop as well as dyno set up. Ended up having to swap my old adjustable WUR for a new Leask unit. Old Wur had been hacked up by different shops so I bit the bullet and had HMR swap it out. Car runs much better now, I am glad I had it dyno'd. It turned out to be dangerously lean on the top end. I also went from a 1 bar to .9 bar WG spring so my hp actually went down. Engine is much happier now. First pull did not go past 5k due to extremely lean AFR's. Final results below:

Very knowlegable about CIS system, Jason the owner of the shop even owns an 88 930. That says it all.

Any updates on this thread?

Can anyone provide an update to this thread? I am in Tampa and in need to dyno tune my car. I had it looked over by Mickey at European Performance, but I need a place that can tune a Tec3R EMS on a Clewett PMO set up.
