I received today 2 brand new door jumb dome light switches. I disassembled the old switches but could not separate the front of the old switch washer from the round dish that is used to hold the rubber caps and the whole switch to the door body. I could not find that dish in our host catalogue...any suggestions? I have to use that small small dish since a new switch comes without it |

interior cabin lights
i succeeded removing the concave dish like washer...but ruined the tiny plastic/coated paper washer that was attached to it...WHAT PURPOSE DOES THIS TINY WASHER SERVE? apparently they can be rotated on and off over the switch....I will buy 2 new ones...and re install the new switch using the existing concave washer.
I extracted the driver side dome light and moved some of the wires around and to my pleasant surprise the light is OFF in the middle position with the door open (passenger side as well) and ON when I touch the switch wire to the hole wall...since it is Ground of the switch. (did not install the new switch yet...as explained above...) So...one issue seems to be solved. Now, when shutting off the ignition the windows can be activated BUT ALSO WHEN DOOR IS OPENED...this is not right...any suggestions? |

interior cabin lights
Thanks for responses received on a previous post and this one...ALL ISSUES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED! here are some observations. The dome lights in the cabin got fixed by using brand new door jamb switches...you also need to buy the brown/red tiny washers...
I also found out that one of the lights was shorting and by just pushing the wires to the other side of the lamp, the problem was solved. now opening either door the lights go on and get shut when doors are closed. The circuit of the cabin lights and the switch function influences the opening and closing the car's doors windows when turning the ignition off after driving the car. Now when you turn the ignition off and key is in 0 position, the windows function....however when opening the door, window no longer function. The relay behind the fuel gauge controls the above...but must be dependent on the well functioning of the light switches described above... BTW...The trunk light works well now (just a new bulb). |
