Bilstein strut dust covers

So I'm getting my parts laid out to start putting my project car together now that I have it back from the painter. I thought I'd start with the front suspension. Everything seems to be in order, I have all the parts down to the last fastener, bearing and seal until I realize that I'm missing the dust covers for the Bilstein struts. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what I might have done with them. The only thing I can think is that I threw them out when I tossed out the rear shocks, thinking they belonged with them. I've looked around my shop twenty times and can't find them. I don't suppose anybody has a set kicking around that they want to part with?

Thanks.

Geoff

Geoff I've got a perfect unused green set from my '71, my struts are Boge (black) so I didn't install them.

$20 plus shipping and Paypal?

ok - I am resurrecting this 11 year old post to save from starting another.

I am at the same point but my car doesn't have a set of the front dust covers.. I replaced my rear shocks and they came with a set of new dust covers.

Can I use my OLD rear dust covers, on my new front Bilstein struts?

if you are going to be running a significant amount of negative camber the missing part will hit the inner fender. I went to a autoparts store that let me look over their stock in back for a rubber squeeze box sort of cover. I ended up with GM power servo steering boot that was near perfect to cover the exposed suspension travel portions of the strut. they had to order me a second one. but they worked marvelous

aha.. you got me thinking... motorcycles use these rubber covers for their forks.. If I find something with suitable diameter and length, I guess it will work?

you really have to see the piece in person with a measuring device and notes you take on the strut dimensions.. it needs to be fat at the bottom to get around the strut, yet skinny enough at the top to snug up just below the threaded stud at the top side.

I used zip ties on both top and bottom of the rubber squeeze boxes I found to secure top & bottom. i made sure it was long enough at full droop, unwound that it'd never be pulled long enough to tax the zip ties.

I think Kman has some GM or mopar part number that works well and is catalog available.

Thanks, I wish I lived in the USA... I didn't want to wait but yes I saw those FEBI covers and would have had in a heartbeat.. a similar item here, is about $88 AUD for the pair!

I ended up opting to use these from a motorcycle accessory store. They should do the trick. Didn't have black unfortunately, but the red will suit my car .
The fit top and bottom is perfect.
