Where were they? Drove from Petersburg(30 mi. S. of State College) PA. to Albany, NY. and back(350 mi. ea. way) to pick up daughter's car and I saw lots of 'Vettes and crotch rockets, but no Porsches! Still too early?

That's quite a haul for one day. Last summer I drove 1600 miles in CA and NV in a week long walkabout. After leaving SoCal freeways, I tink I saw 3 the whole trip. They were near SF, IIRC. This includes Lake Tahoe where not one was spotted.

My wife and I drove 6500 miles last summer. Honest to gosh, we saw more Porsches in the parking lot of our local grocery store where we stopped for a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the completion of the trip than we saw during the rest of the drive.

Porsches are like gold...they are where you find them.

512 miles today and did not see any others than those at the nc pcar run.
diy83sc brings up an interesting thought, but you must answer one question. if you stay at the house, there is a better probability to see a few drive by. since when you are driving and don't see any, maybe all the pcars are going the same direction? where all the cars you saw today going the same direction?

Like I said a couple days ago I drove about five miles and saw 3 996 turbos, 2 996 C4's, and a 993, and today I saw a couple of boxsters.

Sounds like they're frequently driven West and South of PA., but this was our first 60 degree F day since November, and all I saw were 'Vettes, MG's, and Chrysler convertibles, tops down, and crotch rockets galore.

In the past 3 weeks here in Denver, I've seen 1 other Porsche 911 and it was a red Targa like mine, but much older. I waved, he just looked at me like I was nutz :|

Ya know, this is a funny topic that hits close to home with the wife & I. She's worked at the same Porsche shop for dang near 20 years....so she knows her p-cars...but she swears and I have to back her up on this, that when ever we are in the 911, all other 911's get OFF the road...no lie. Been like this since she brought home mine(40th b-day present) back in '97) and it show's no signs of changing.
Is it just "us"??? Seem's to me I have seen more 911's while driving my huge Ford diesel p/up than when I'm behind the wheel of the 911..... maybe I'm just blind...I dunno.....

I am about 40 Mi west of State College - and I thought there was still too much gravel and junk on the roads. I like to wait until we have a good rain storm or two to wash the debris of the roads. I did start the car and run it around town for a little. I also gave it a quick bath.

Last Sunday I drove from Parma in Italy to Cologne in Germany, (about 600 miles), passing by Stuttgart, returned the following day. I saw one 996, three boxsters and a GT3 in Cologne on Sunday night. I see more Porsches driving to my local supermarket on a summer's day.
