'87 Targa - Adding MOMO Prototipo - Need Input
Hi. Need some advice. I'm looking to install a MOMO Prototipo 350mm in my '87 Targa. I planned to use the L231 MOMO adapter. Can anyone tell me if there will be enough room between the wheel and the top of the dash for my fingers or will I need a spacer?
If no, can you give me a sense of how much space the L231 provides (wheel to dash) so I can determine which spacer to get? I've read a ton of the posts about various spacers and such, and didn't see this question answered, sorry if I missed it! Thank you! SmileWavy |
Welcome to the forum. I've found lots of help here.
I've got a 350mm Prototipo, the L231 adapter, and the J-West eccentric installed on my '75 Targa. There is ~63mm minimum clearance from the back of the steering wheel to the top of the dash; that would ~53mm without the J-West eccentric. I've never hit my fingers on the dash while driving the car. |
Awesome. Thank you, will be placing my order today then! Thanks ! SmileWavy

plenty of room, but I would asdd that the 350 is small and vision to the instruments is a bit impeeded. a 370 would be better or use a hub extension

I had the 360 set up with JWest and there was plenty of room. 350 is really small you might not like it and you definitely wont see your gauges.

Ohh the beauty of the very beautiful but strangely laid out 9111 dashboard...
I had a Prototipo for a season, without spacer, got sick of hitting my knuckles on the windshield... Now I'm rocking a MOMO Mod-08, with 1.5" spacer. Made a world of difference with reach and comfort...still had to re-clock my gauges for proper visibility |
Appreciate all the feedback...very helpful!
