'68 Steering Rack Identification

The '68 is a bit of a hodge-podge year with a mixture of parts from 67 and earlier cars and components from 69 onwards. I've determined that my car does have the correct A Arm and bushing setup as shown in the 1968 parts diagram, but am unsure about the steering rack. I plan to install a Turbo Tie Rod kit, but am unsure whether I need the extended kit for 65-68 cars or the 69+ kit with standard length tie rods. Unfortunately the recommended year models for the kit are not so cut and dry as I've found out with other '68 parts.

Does anyone know how to identify an early narrow steering rack compared to the later 'wider' rack? Are there some sort of measurements that can be taken to determine what I have?
