I am still struggling with how much sound deadening to reinstall. this is not being built to be a quiet, comfy cruiser but a harsh, loud track capable beast. even though most driving will be on the street to events, car shows, and for an occasional adrenaline rush. |

If you transport Dry ice inside your car, roll the windows down. I did the heat gun method and it worked awesome. I had one side done in the time it would take to go buy dry ice, bring it back, spread it etc. If you use a plastic paint scraper with the heat gun, it comes up like hard taffy and leaves a clean surface. It can come up in large chunks if you spread the heat as you work the plastic scraper under. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tB00z3MTTS0" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer;encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

I am going to line the rear parcel with some Mass loaded vinyl to take some of the harsh frequencies out of the engine noise. The stuff is heavy but provides the best noise canceling per lb. I haven't decided if I want to put it inside or in a Singer style engine pad. |

OK... I'll try the heat gun and knife first. will do this before we bead blast the tub. I did not want to try to get that stuff off with bead blasting. wish me luck. |

BTW Flojo, what paint did you use on the floors? My 914s are stripped, just going back/forth on what to paint with. |
