Perlon felt trunk carpets
Hi Guys ,
I just restored a euro 911 SC coupe with a ton of parts from our host and the dealer , but the APPBIZ carpet set I just received is the only thing I've bought that is getting returned ; snaps aren't in the correct places ( and yes I know you can swing the fixed bracket 180 degrees ) and places that should have sewn in pieces or a molded fit are just flat . Has anyone bought SC carpets from either the dealer or Autos International ? I still have my originals which are kind of dirty , but intact and it's amazing how many cutouts ( for the paint plate ) slits , molded , and sewn areas there are even on the side pieces . Thanks for the input , Bryan |

Well - I'm going to answer my own question - Autos International - they look just like the originals .

FWIW, the snaps are in different places for boosted and non-boosted brakes.

Hi Bill , Yes I'm aware of that - the proper ( boosted ) set was ordered , but the fitment wasn't right on any of the pieces . The Autos International set was more expensive , but from photos ( and their reputation ) all of the various zigs and zags , slits and sewn in parts all seem to match my original set . When the glass was out for paint I used one their headliners ( non-sunroof ) and it was a perfect fit . I'll post again after I receive the set so that others can have a heads up on it . Regards, Bryan |

Per a recommendation from another Pelicanite, I purchased a set of plush black carpeting for my '87 from a seller on eBay (seller is rennspd) who ships it out of Southern CA. Comes with snap buttons and fits amazingly well - just needs to be stretched a bit when fitting it.
The seller has perlon and plush sets in black and gray. I paid $120 for my plush, and the perlon is under $100. I'll post pictures of it later today. |

Bryan, I purchased one of the higher priced (non-OEM) trunk sets from our host.
The bulkhead piece lined up pretty well. I had to stretch it, about an inch total, to get both snaps, and, cut a relief for the lid light-stop. The sides were not that easy. The passenger side required me to remove a couple of fender mounts and reverse the direction the snap was orientated towards. This gave me an inch of opposite attachment. Also, the center section has a full width pocket at the bottom that I am not familiar with. Still, for the price difference, it looks pretty good. Bill K

Here we go. Non-OEM black plush carpeting with snaps and black vinyl piping. Fits pretty nicely.

This is really useful information. I've had good luck with AppBiz stuff like door panels, this makes me have second thoughts on trunk carpet.
Thank you, that black looks sharp.
