Help with lug nut I’m removing the BBS basketweave wheels for a set of euromiesters. After removing the center cap, I noticed there is a unique lug nut. It looks more like a cap than a nut because of no defined edges. I was able to crack loose the others but I don’t know how to get this one loose. Any ideas? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1554578902.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1554579013.jpg |

Can you put a wrench on it? I looks like a closed end lug nut. |

Unknown wheel lock? Could it be a wheel lock? Is the car new to you? Tony |

you should search trough the car for a socket which fits on this locking type lug nut.Otherwise use a hammer nad 19mm socket and try to hammer it on over the top.. Ivan |

You can weld a nut on it |

If hammering does not work, you could try this bolt extractor kit https://www.amazon.com/HANSON-Lugnut-Specialty-Extractor-54125/dp/B001ACPRFU |

Thanks for the information. The car is new to me and there are no tools. I feel there should be a specialty tool. There are three small edges. A 19 mm seems to be correct diameter but doesn’t match the pattern. An 18 mm is way to small. |

Is it just a cap that pulls off the lug nut? Maybe a lock underneath. |

Any discount tire or other chain will have a cornucopia of keys to try. Put the lugs back on, leave the center caps off, and drive it over. Have them remove ONLY the keyed lug. Drive it home and put the Euromeisters on yourself. |

I cannot see it enough to offer any advice other than I remove and throw away all wheel locks for cars older than 10 years. Nobody wants those wheels and the only person that the wheel lock keeps out is the owner, at the worst possible time like in the rain at 9PM with a flat. For other cars that I have wheel locks, the first thing I buy for the car is a second lock key and I keep one in the car, the second one in the tool box. |

Back then we use a 12 point socket that barely fits over the nut and we hammer it in slowly until it grabs. Then use an impact gun to take it off. |
