Re-chrome fog light and rear turn signal reflectors
Hi Gents.
I need to restore fog light and rear turn signal reflectors. My cars is 930 Turbo from 1979 and the two reflectors are different materials. They could probably be send to a company for re-chrome, but if I can reach a proper quality level with a spray I will give it a try. .

A few left-of-field options.
I'm not sure about at-home product but most body shops have access to excellent 2-part chrome paint these days. When done it sure looks like chrome... have no idea if the light reflective properties are the same. Also, anyplace that does vinyl car wraps will have access to chrome vinyl. Once again, the stuff looks amazing but I have no idea how it may or may not hold up in a reflector application. I only wish these solutions have been available years ago when I made my lightweight 914. I could have made those fingerless bumpers look like the heavy chrome items ![]()

I have seen this used and thought it was real chrome. There are some terrible paints out there, this is not one. This gives a quality chrome finish. |

Oh yeah, I've seen the videos. Looks impressive. Did not realize that was available for non-pros. Very cool.

Here's a solution to re-chroming w/o painting. This is a TR6 rear light fixture with reflective tape.

I have known about this company alsacorp that makes Mirror chorme spray/paint products a little over 10 years and they are one of the best brand.
Get those Easy Chrome spray cans thru this company alsacorp - they are very effective chrome paint just like MIRROR. Not like you get a "chromey" cheap spray cans at Home Depot that is dull aluminum paint. So get those at alsacorp and ask for Easy Chrome spray can will do the job on those front turn signal lights internal reflector parts. They are worth every penny instead of costly re-plating "dipping" chrome companies. |
