Making your own oil hoses

Have a few people tried this? I see these replacement hoses selling for 70$ and 100$ for the return and engine oil lines from the reservoir tank. I have my original fittings but the rubber hoses are cracked. I’ve seen this guy made his own with stainless steel lines. Has anyone else here tried and have any tips? Doesn't seem very expensive for something that is so important. I'd want to make sure that wasn't something that would leak...
