1985 3.2 Sound deadening

So, I was trying to inspect where the rattle in the back came from and I took out the rear shelf. Looks like the handywork from the PO to fit the speakers ended up with too much depth so they are bottoming out against the metal on bumps. I can fix that.

The question now is, do I put the sound dampening mat (15 mm thick mat+vinyl) back as it is
- or -
will there be a significant difference if I cover the area in Dynamat extreme and then make the same shape than the mat in Dynapad material ?
Or is that a wrong combination of materials ?

Better ask before shelling out 350 EUR on materials...
