Carrera oil fed tensioner upgrade on 1979 3.0 SC, sealing ring
Hi all,
My car was converted to oil fed tensioners years ago, the oil line on the right of my car has started weeping oil and I have the new cohline oil line part # 930-107-348-12. I ordered it over a year ago, and I ordered sealing rings at the same time for the banjo style fitting, the 2 x aluminum washer type rings. Now when I look at the sealing rings I bought, they look like copper, not aluminum. Will copper ones work ok, rather than aluminum ones. The only issue I can think of is expansion rates could be different, but would that even be relevant for a sealing ring that size ? The aluminum ones on pelican look to be part # 900-123-116-30. What do you think, safe to proceed with copper ? Thanks. |

Thanks John Walkers Workshop.
Will proceed with the copper. Any tips for ensuring sealing on all 3 connections, other than dont overtighten. I was going to get it in there and just snug everything up on the 2 x left side, not tighten, then fit the banjo side and snug up and not tighten, then nip everything up but not overtighten. |
