Going to install J West headlight relay but this is in the way?

I have a J West headlight relay kit and decided that it was time to install it but there is this connector in the way. WTH? Any ideas....

I was able to install the relays. The directions were good.
I ended up using the ground near the front battery.
I will just Velcro it below the electrical connector.

I also used this as an opportunity to clean both grounds (Left of the fuse box and the ground bolt under the front bumper near the battery)
I used a wire wheel brush to clean the various ring terminal connectors and used dielectric grease, as well.

When connecting the positive terminal to the battery,
I redid the brittle and fraying heat shrink tubing.

Dielectric grease not good in that application, acts as an insulator. Just wire brush to clean and replace.

I just recently installed the relay kit and adjusted the relay bracket to fit nicely over that connector. I do like the Velcro idea too mounted below it.

In my '87, I found that the connector was for the frunk light as well as interior lights. My lights would flicker/turn off when I moved it slightly. Using a longer bolt, I placed the JWest relay over the top to help keep it stable and secure.

Shameless plug for a fellow community member, here is a recent YouTube video on the install. https://youtu.be/ObKnuH8eOVM
