Can you convert a mechanical odometer 915 transmission to electronic

Can a 915 mechanical speedometer be converted to electronic?

Sure.

Basically what you could do is attach a flying magnet to the Inner CV flange, and mount a Hall effect sensor nearby to pick up the signal. Then read that signal with an Arduino, and use that to drive a stepper motor in a Speedo.

That’s basically what I’m doing in my 76.

Are you trying to put an older 915 in a newer car? What years? You may have other issues beside the speedo.

I did this in my 1975 car. I simply purchased an auto meter GPS sensor, and plugged it into an electronic Speedometer for my 911. It gives me really accurate speed, and works perfect.

It's in the car already

It's a 77 911s with a 74 915 transmission, it in the car already but I guess who ever did the transplant did not convert it.

Buy a 74 speedo and cable.

I thought about that but I just wanted to see if there was an easier way, thanks.
