Possible the throttle rod and clutch cable are tangled?

after working in the tunnel, changed the throttle bushing, the accelerator is now hanging-up and idling high. It ONLY happens when the clutch in pressed down, while downshifting in low gears. It resumes idling normally as I let up on the clutch. Is it possible that I did something wrong and the clutch Cable and the throttle rod became entangled somehow? Could one be hung-up on the other? Or are they separated in such a way that this couldn’t happen?

My guess is up front, close to the pedal cluster. The throttle rod and clutch cable are very close there, you may have the clutch cable wrapped around the throttle rod.

Was afraid it might be up front... I would hate to take the console out for the millionth time! Besides being an awkward work space I’m Alway worried about bending the thermostat tube taking in and out. It’s brand new.

You should not have to remove the pedal cluster. Just unclip the throttle rod and slide backwards and make sure it is free of the clutch cable.

It is usually possible to unseat the ball joint at the transmission bell crank to gain enough clearanc e to clear the clutch lever arm.

Otherwise, You might have to release the clutch cable to wrap around the throttle. This requires release of cable tension under the transmission.
