did you change your Koni inserts?

I am looking for someone who changed out their Koni Struts. I am missing a single insert securing nut.

I need this nut ASAP so the car can go on wheels again and be painted.

I am looking for the nut that secures a Koni sealed insert (#86-1638) into a factory koni early strut. If you have an extra nut left from the old inserts I will buy it from you.

I hope someone out there has one.

btw, several times in the classifieds produced nothing. This is my last hope.

Thanks

That would be a life saver. Keep me posted.

I will get the specs tonight to make sure they match.

This is the "internal thread" collar, correct? I think I have one of those in the toolbox.

Free. Let me know if you need it.

I'm afraid I don't have one...

I have two, they look brand new. Let me know how you want to have me send them to you.

Cheers,

Jamie:

I have one that should work, have 2 to choose from.

I'm in Reston, I think we have met on a fun run or two.

If you contact Gordon at Koni USA he will be able to help you if mine don't work . . . long story how I came across him. He is in customer service - auto products.

The '076' part above is a coarse thread nut (look at the threads on the earlier pic). It may not work with some of the older Koni housings. I got 2 of those with my new inserts, but I needed to buy an addtional fine thread version for my struts.

Anybody selling the inserts should have the fine thread nut for the older strut housing.

Mark, yes, we have met on the fun runs. I could drive out tomorrow and see if they work. If not, Chris I will contact you. Local is faster/easier than shipping.

Shuie, Yours look to have a coarse thread compared to the fine thread. I think we both need the same part. Mark/Chris - How fine/Coarse are the threads on your parts. I could not read the part number stamped in my nut. I think it starts or ends with 08.

Thanks again for your help.
