Fuel Pump for Weber Carbs? Any recomendations!!

My Facet pump just pretty much died not putting out any pressure anymore. Any recommendations on a pump? Facet seems to be too noisy for my tastes??

Facet is not a bad pump for the price. You want original go Bosch, but will cost you more.

Holley Red fuel pump with the separate Holley fuel pressure regulator set to 3.5 psi max.

The picture and description are correct, thats the Holley "Red" pump. Summit is a good one to deal with, also try Jeg's.

I used the same wiring, maybe had to change a terminal on the end of the wire but I don't remember.

Also, you will need the Holley fuel pressure regulator ( a separate assembly ) in order to get the fuel pressure down to where the floats will work OK on the Webers.

Good luck.

If you think Facet is loud, wait till you try the Holley! I bought one and I could hear it OVER the engine!

I returned it and got a Carter, then ended up using a facet.

The carter was never installed and I will sell it if you are interested.

Mallory pumps are very quiet. They come in 70, 110, and 140 gph pumps! I'm using one on my conversion car!.+

Holley's fuel pumps are only loud until the engine starts. I can't hear mine over the Dansk sport muffler ( the dual in, single out type ). Oh well, at least you can cross off the fuel pump not running when the car won't start just by listening for it.

Weber fuel pressure requirements are fairly modest (~3-4 psi). I'd try to locate a generic, off-the-shelf, low-pressure fuel pump from the local auto parts house (~$30-40). This way, you don't have to worry about a FP regulator (another item that can go belly up), and replacements should be easy to get. A cylindrically-shaped pump with inlet and outlet on each end makes it fairly low-profile (unlike a Facet) and easy to mount to the front crossmember. JC Whitney carries them, but you should be able to source one locally. The one I installed 5 years ago is still working fine in my 2.7. If I was less optimistic, I'd buy a spare and keep it in the trunk ... just in case.

Thought I would bring this OLD thread up to date.....

I had a request for a replacement pump for a stock 71 911 and a front mount for same.

A long while back I began making up front mounts for the early 911 CIS cars that needed a front Bosch Flow-Through pump.....

I found a Delphi "Flow-Thru" Pump at a local parts store that has 4psi output and made up a similar mount to locate it up front.....

Just sending it off now to the fellow restoring his 71 911 and using the stock Zenith carbs. Will post installed photo when I have it.

I know nothing about Delphi Pumps except they are an OE manufacturer and well known. Made in China of course.

Anyone with first hand info on this pump please report back.

Len
