69 decklid 3 bar grill. How to disassemble without damaging.

Trying to refurbish my 69 3 bar grill. It's in good shape but I want to prep and paint the black painted portions ( the background lattice and the 3 bars) and Fully polish the grill bars.
The polished grill bars are pretty difficult to not damage / bend as they are removed from the cross bars as they look to be lightly crimped to the 3 bars.

Any thoughts from those who have gone down this road?
