I'd like to drive mine more, but I've had some pretty irritating issues since I picked mine up a few years ago, which is ultimately resulting in my current rebuild and move to EFI/ITBs. Once that's done and I get the AC sorted out, I hope to drive it pretty much daily for 8-9 months a year.

In 2016 I drove 250 miles, in 2017 I drove 156 miles and in 2018 I drove 152 miles.

The tragedy is that the car is 100% all squared away. Even the A/C blows ice.

Just too busy with life in general. I do run the engine regularly.

. . . but don’t get too excited Click Click, my boy already has dibs on this garage Queen

I have other, wiser daily driving options and a shockingly short driving window and still seem to pile on 7-9K/ year on the 3.2.

Yup -- I love Chicago, but it's got to be one of the worst places to drive a vintage car: five months of winter, horrible roads, and some of the highest gas prices in the country. Hell, we had snow less than a week ago ...

I have a question for the daily driver guys regarding insurance. How do you insure? My car's going to be road-ready in a few months, and I don't want to be restricted by some actuary somewhere. Car's a '75 with a widebody, I'm just wondering how to get it on the road and what kinda insurance coverage I'll need.

Hagerty has no mileage limitations, but you get raped for the coverage. Each year it has gone up consistently. The bill this year is $924 for a $45K agreed on value and no roadside assistance.

I am in full agreement with you on all counts. Each year it seems to get worse. I road tripped out to Rennsport last year in my 911 with the other AchtungKraft guys in the midwest. What a blast. Amazing roads (caveat: once you hit Salt Lake City and/or actually get off Interstate 80).

You may want to try Grundy. I believe mine has a 5k limit though. They require that you have a primary car - since I am summer use only and travel a lot, 5k is fine.

$270 for agreed value of $35k. However, am going to up it to 45 or 50 due to complete engine rebuild- so I will see if it suddenly approaches the Hagerty numbers listed above. Also, this includes roadside.

My goal this year is to drive more and worry less.

I just got a Grundy quote - it was $365 for $45k of agreed value coverage (and 8k miles/year). I stuck with Geico because I was too lazy to take photos, lol

Matt, you need more coverage dude. You can't replace a g50 Carrera as clean as yours for $45k these days.

What are you thinking, Tony? Can't be as high as $55k, so maybe like $50k?
