I would like to get a hydraulic press to install new bearings on the front axle of my SC. Ideally, this press should be large enough and have enough force to cover everything needed for Porsche maintenance. What size and force would you recommend me?

The 20 ton harbor freight one works fine for any garage related task.
They seem to have tow versions, one with channel iron sides and bolted cross beam, and the other with stamped sides and welded cross beam. Make sure you get the bolted channel iron style, much better. Honestly you can probably get by with the 12 ton, but I do some bigger stuff hence why I got the 20 ton. Quote:

Be careful using a press on the front hubs as they are aluminum. You can heat the hub in an oven and the bearing races will just drop in.
The 12 ton harbor freight press works OK for most jobs, BTW.
