Anodising handles

Hi,

Ive removed my door handles to have them anodised, Ive also removed the trigger and the lock barrel.
How do i remove the steel threaded rod set into the thin end of the handle and can anyone tell me if the insert that is set into the handle that receives the lock barrel is steel.
If it is can it be removed for anodising.
