Carrera Foglamps
How does the foglamp blulb release from their sockets? Just a straight pull, is there some type of locking mechanism? This may turn out to be the dumb question of the day. Thanks.

Walt--
If they use an H3 bulb (same as my '85 Targa), there's a metal 'thingie' that snaps in place, holding it. If you can, go to an auto parts store and check out an H3 bulb - I'm pretty sure its NOT just a 'pull it out'. Ask me how I know its not a simple pull it out ![]()

Not straight pull. My '86 Carrera fogs are H3's also. On the back of the socket, there's a wire (thickness of paper clip) that's shaped kinda like a "U" that hold the bulb in from the rear of the bulb base. This wire is under tension, and needs to be released like a spring. If you look carefully, there are corresponding notches on the bulb base where the wire spring is hooked onto. AFTER release of this wire spring, the bulb is loose and falls out easily.
