removing shift rod bracket
I need to replace the shift rod bracket and busing.
following the 101 projects book, it makes no mention at all how to remove this bracket...only that it is held on by two screws..... I assume the ball cup has to come off....i see an allen screw in the side of the ball cup. Do I loosen that and pull of ball cup? THanks |
Put the car into 3rd gear. Remove the shifter base by taking out the five bolts on the shifter base. Once the shifter base is off the bracket will have play in it. Find the allen head bolt on the driver side of the ball cup. Remove allen head bolt and slide ball cup forward to remove. Now slide the bracket + bushing out of the shifter rod.

Thanks for the help!
